The customer experienced an emergency toilet overflow that caused extensive Category 3 water damage across multiple levels of the home. The flooding affected the upstairs bathroom and hallway, subsequently leaking through the floor to damage the kitchen ceiling below. Professional mitigation was required to prevent structural rot and microbial growth while navigating a pending insurance claim.
JRCC Restoration Pros executed a systematic water mitigation and controlled demolition plan to stabilize the environment and prepare for reconstruction. After protecting unaffected flooring with Ram board and shielding, our team carefully removed the bathroom mirror, toilet, and vanity to access saturated materials. We stripped the affected vinyl flooring, underlayment, and hallway carpet padding, utilizing HEPA vacuums to clear debris and extracting tack strips to ensure homeowner safety. In the kitchen area, we established containment barriers and an isolation chamber to perform precision flood cuts on the ceiling drywall. Upon removal, the exposed framing was inspected and treated with a professional-grade antimicrobial solution to prevent mold development. To facilitate continued use of the home, we organized vanity contents for the homeowner and re-secured carpet edges with safety tape. The project was concluded with a final DocuSketch 360° scan and detailed documentation for insurance reporting.
