The customer discovered a leak originating from a copper drain line in the crawlspace beneath the bathroom. This Category 3 water loss caused moisture to saturate the subfloor and ceramic tile, leading to the development of microbial growth on the wood and plastic surfaces.
Decontamination: Sprayed the crawlspace wood and white plastic surfaces with advanced antimicrobial and MMR (Mold Stain Remover) solutions to eliminate microbial growth. Mechanical Cleaning: Hand-scrubbed and wiped down the structural wood and plastic lining to ensure all surface contaminants were removed. Vapor Barrier Restoration: Removed the old, contaminated vapor barrier and replaced it with a new, high-grade barrier to ensure a clean and moisture-resistant environment. Strategic Demolition: Identified wet ceramic floor tiles in the bathroom for demolition to allow the subfloor underneath to be properly dried and sanitized.
