The customer reached out due to a severe water leak involving the washing machine hot water lines that caused significant structural damage. The moisture had compromised the integrity of the laundry room floor to the point that a person's knee broke through the floorboard. There was a critical need for water mitigation, structural subfloor repair, and a complete plumbing overhaul to replace compromised water lines and valves.
To address the 100% moisture saturation and structural floor failure, the team implemented a professional recovery plan following IICRC S500 standards. We established strict containment barriers and performed controlled demolition to remove water-damaged flooring and wet insulation, effectively preventing microbial growth. Structural integrity was restored by reinforcing and leveling floor joists with custom blocking before installing new CDX plywood subflooring. To ensure a dry environment, industrial air movers and dehumidifiers were deployed to extract deep-seated moisture from the crawlspace and structure. Finally, we coordinated a full plumbing overhaul—including new water lines and valves—before reinstalling the appliances to return the laundry room to full service.
